The Time to Coach Biblical Literacy is Now: Here’s a Tool to Help
If you’re a parent, grandparent, teacher, or ministry leader in today’s world, you probably feel overwhelmed. How do you help kids and students in your lives engage with what’s going on in the world? How do you disciple them through the news with discernment instead of anxiety?
I’m Kelsey Reed, News Coach for God’s WORLD News, seminary-trained educator, wife, homeschool mom, apologist, world traveler, and most importantly, follower of Christ. I’m here to come alongside you as you have the important conversations of life, faith, and culture with your kids.
We’ll answer your questions and talk with experts and parents to hone in on the best tools for establishing a non-anxious learning enviroment, developing news literacy, and cultivating discernment.

Kelsey Reed brings to our news family her combined experiences as a parent, teacher, wife, writer, apologist, public speaker, seminarian, world traveler, and, most importantly, a disciple of Christ. In her study at Covenant Theological Seminary, Kelsey developed an “affirm and challenge” methodology which she is eager to share. This method asks, “Where do we see the Father’s hand, elements of truth, a reflection of His Story in the story being told (or ‘what can we affirm’)? Where does the story we are observing depart from or oppose the redemptive narrative (‘what can we challenge’), and how can we shape culture for God’s glory, speaking into it with truth in love?”
Jonathan Boes makes things. He was homeschooled but turned out mostly normal. With a background in literature, Jonathan enjoys exploring stories and culture to find the places where the gospel fills the needs of the world. It’s his great desire to help people find God’s goodness, beauty, and truth in creation.
At GWN, Jonathan produces video and podcast content to help parents and kids engage with culture. He also writes for WORLDkids and WORLDteen.
